As an accomplished legal professional and a strategic political leader, his contributions across both the legislative and executive branches have left an indelible mark on the socio-economic landscape of the state and the nation.

Key Leadership Milestones

• Executive Governor of Benue State (2007–2015)

• Serving two historic terms as Chief Executive, Dr. Suswam championed comprehensive infrastructural modernization. His administration’s enduring legacy includes pioneering the expansion of the Greater Makurdi Water Plant and constructing the state-of-the-art Makurdi International Market, significantly boosting regional commerce.

• Senator of the Federal Republic (2019–2023)

• Representing the Benue North-East Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly, he brought his extensive governance experience to the Senate, advocating for legislative frameworks that support national development, security, and local empowerment.

• Federal House of Representatives (1999–2007)
